Here at Popcorn Kitchen, we keep things simple, delicious, and made with joy! We’ve grown from humble beginnings, but at heart, we’re still a small team who love nothing more than spreading popcorn happiness far and wide. We’re proudly independent, proudly popcorn-obsessed, and proudly a certified B Corp too!

We may have started small (popping corn at local festivals), but we’ve come a long way – and that’s down to Louise, our brilliant founder. Louise isn’t just the one with the ideas – she’s the one making them happen. From launching at local markets to building relationships with major retailers, she’s steered Popcorn Kitchen from passion project to powerhouse, with plenty of flavour (and grit) along the way.

Today, we’re still a small but mighty team, and every pack of popcorn is made with care, fun, and a lot of taste-testing. So, we thought it was about time you met the people behind the popcorn...

At Popcorn Kitchen HQ, we are:
💼 Louise – founder, flavour boss, and engine of the whole operation
🎨 Jill – the one with the words and a lot of snack opinions
📦 Kaz – keeps the wheels turning and the popcorn flying out the door

We also work with some wonderful extended team members who help with our design, PR and socials — but this blog is all about the in-house crew who live and breathe popcorn every single day.

We asked each other some fun, slightly silly, and occasionally snack-related questions so you can get to know us a bit better — what we love, what we snack on, and what it’s really like behind the scenes.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I love my VW Beetle.

Morning bird or night owl?
Morning bird, 100%.

What’s always in your handbag/pocket/work drawer?
Lip salve.

What’s your all-time favourite Popcorn Kitchen flavour?
Can’t pick just one – Lemon Drizzle and Chocolate Mint.

Describe your job in 3 emojis:
😊 🥳 🤯

Best snack combo that shouldn’t work… but does?
Popcorn and jellybeans.

What’s the most fun part of your job?
Working with a fabulous team.

Hidden talent or party trick?
Golf.

First job ever (and what you learned from it)?
Selling watches on a market stall – I learned that I needed to be outgoing and bold to sell.

What’s your perfect Sunday?
Lazy morning with sourdough toast, a round of golf, then a cold glass of something with a really tasty dinner.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I loved gymnastics and was North West England Vault Champion aged 13.

Morning bird or night owl?
I am both (but not on the same day).

What’s always in your handbag/pocket/work drawer?
A pack of tissues – my eyes water when I laugh.

What’s your all-time favourite Popcorn Kitchen flavour?
This changes all the time! Currently: White Choc & Raspberry.

Describe your job in 3 emojis:

Best snack combo that shouldn’t work… but does?
Sweet & Salt popcorn mixed with Minstrels.

What’s the most fun part of your job?
Tasting new flavours and the new Pop at Home toppings.

Hidden talent or party trick?
I can still do five cartwheels in a row – even though it’s been decades since I stopped gymnastics.

First job ever (and what you learned from it)?
I worked at Boots the Chemist on a Saturday afternoon and learnt that a good customer smile goes a long way.

What’s your perfect Sunday?
A lie-in, coffee and the papers, a walk in the countryside, and a huge roast dinner with all the trimmings.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve been an extra in a film (The Gambit, filmed at Tyringham Hall).
I hosted a wedding in my back garden for 150 people.
I have ADHD 😂

Definitely morning!

What’s always in your handbag/pocket/work drawer?
Paracetamol and lip gloss.

What’s your all-time favourite Popcorn Kitchen flavour?
Raspberry and White Chocolate.

Describe your job in 3 emojis:

Best snack combo that shouldn’t work… but does?
Marmite and peanut butter.

What’s the most fun part of your job?
Chatting and getting people to like me 😂

Hidden talent or party trick?
Best cocktail maker. Also: dancing!

First job ever (and what you learned from it)?
Hairdresser – it made me come out of my shell and become a good communicator.
