Not Your Average Popcorn Story 🍿
•Posted on April 08 2026
We came across a lovely feature recently in Enterprise Nation, shining a spotlight on our founder, Louise Monk and her journey building Popcorn Kitchen into what it is today.
It’s a story that starts long before Popcorn Kitchen, with years spent in the snacking world… and a bold decision to do things differently.
Rather than chasing supermarket shelves, Louise chose to grow Popcorn Kitchen in places where great food is truly appreciated: farm shops, delis, garden centres and food halls. It’s a path that’s helped shape our brand into something a little more special (and a lot more personal 💛).
The article also shares some of the behind-the-scenes moments - from the challenges of 2019 and COVID, to the unexpected boost from hamper companies, and the decisions that continue to guide the business today.
You’ll also spot some of the things that really matter to us:
- Staying independent and building sustainably
- Becoming a certified B Corp
- Creating products with quality (and a bit of fun) at their heart
- And of course… continuing to innovate, including the launch of Crunch Corn 🌽
It’s a really honest look at the journey so far, and what’s still to come.
