Popcorn, Stories and Smiles at the Olney Centre

At Popcorn Kitchen, we're passionate about more than just making delicious snacks – we're proud to be part of the local community.

On Friday 24 July, our founder, Louise, spent the afternoon at the Friday Social for seniors, at the Olney Centre, chatting with local residents over popcorn and sharing the story behind Popcorn Kitchen.

Louise spoke about her career in the food industry, what inspired her to start Popcorn Kitchen, the challenges the business faced during Covid, and how those difficult years helped shape the company we are today. She also talked about how rewarding it is that the business now employs local people, creating opportunities within the community that has supported us from the very beginning.

Of course, no visit from Popcorn Kitchen would be complete without plenty of popcorn to enjoy! It was wonderful to meet everyone, answer questions and hear so many stories in return. There was lots of laughter, great conversation and, naturally, plenty of happy snacking.

As an Olney-based business, supporting our local community is something we're incredibly proud of. Whether it's our annual stall at Olney Dickens of a Christmas, donating products to Olney is Kind, or taking part in events like this, we're always delighted to give something back.
