Supporting Small Businesses: A Confidence-Boosting Day for Popcorn Kitchen

As a small business, being surrounded by a strong network of like-minded entrepreneurs is incredibly valuable. It’s where ideas are shared, lessons are learned and confidence is built. That’s why we were so pleased to be invited to take part in a recent Small Business Pitch Event, bringing together independent brands from across the UK.

Hosted by Small Business Britain and the Department for Business and Trade, and held at BT’s London offices, the event created a brilliant platform for small businesses to connect, learn and grow. It was inspiring to be in a room full of passionate founders, all working towards building sustainable, successful businesses.

Alongside the opportunity to pitch to new customers and explore export opportunities, the day also included a valuable overview of the support available to small businesses through the Department for Business and Trade. From practical guidance to expert advice, it was reassuring to see just how much help is available for businesses looking to grow both now and in the future.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for Louise to share the Popcorn Kitchen story with Sir Christopher Bryant, Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade, and Blair McDougall, Minister for Small Business and Economic Transformation. It was encouraging to hear first-hand how strongly small businesses are supported and how central growth and innovation are to future plans.

While we never need extra motivation to keep pushing Popcorn Kitchen forward, the event provided a genuine confidence boost and a renewed sense of how supported small businesses are here in the UK. Days like this remind us why building something independently is worth every step.
